Practice Biography
Auburn Family Health Center, P.C. was established in 1979 as a National Health Service Corps site when Dr. Gary Ensz was recruited to the area. Nemaha County Health Services, Inc. oversaw the practice from 1979–1983. Dr. Ensz assumed ownership of the practice as a sole proprietor in 1983, and it was later incorporated as Auburn Family Health Center, P.C. in 1992.
Due to continued growth, Dr. John Gill and Dr. Michael Zaruba joined the practice in 2001. Dr. Andrew Ensz, son of Dr. Gary Ensz, joined Auburn Family Health Center in the fall of 2019.
In addition to Dr. Andrew, his wife, Dr. Amanda Ensz joined our practice in November 2019. Dr. Amanda is an Internal Medicine physician, who specializes in adult complex health conditions. She is trained to see a wide variety of patients with multiple health issues. Dr. Amanda’s particular interests include Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease and Women’s Health.
AFHC added Lindsey Howell Adams, PA-C to the practice in June 2020. Lindsey is available to see acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and/or routine healthcare exams. She has a particular interest in preventative medicine and Women’s Health.
Dr. Madhav Narayan joined Auburn Family Health Center in 2024. He completed his undergraduate education, medical school, and residency at the University of Colorado, including a rural training track focused on the unique scope of care required in rural communities. His background and training align closely with AFHC’s mission to provide comprehensive, community-centered care.
Auburn Family Health Center, P.C. currently employs four Family Practice physicians, one Internal Medicine physician, one Occupational Health physician, and one office Physician Assistant and four ER Physician Assistants.
